Member Testimonials
What do members have to say about the benefits of their ERTOA membership?
As a member of ERTOA we have found our association to be very supportive and beneficial in the following key areas: It enables us to keep abreast of current and future trends in VET specifically with regard to legislative changes that can have a significant impact on enterprise RTO’s especially during audit and re-registration processes, and it provides an ideal avenue for networking opportunities with other training professionals from companies across varying industries, to gain insight and share experiences on learning and assessment strategies that align to business needs and meet the AQTF requirements.

Being a member of ERTOA has been of great assistance to Defence in that we are able to exchange ideas, views and problems with other Enterprise RTOs, also membership has enabled us to give responses and views when new regulatory changes are proposed and not be a “voice in the wilderness”.

McDonald’s Australia Ltd has been a member of ERTOA since the association began and we continue to benefit from this membership. ERTOA gives enterprise RTO’s the opportunity to discuss and resolve questions and issues that are particular to our type of RTO. This benefit cannot be underestimated as enterprise RTO’s operate differently to other types of RTO’s and it is essential that we have a body that is sympathetic to the challenges of running an enterprise RTO. ERTOA provides this support as well as giving us a strong national voice in issues that affect and impact our business.
The networking opportunities provided by being a member of ERTOA are also a valuable benefit, not only to me as the National RTO Manager, but to members of my team around the country as well. The members’ special interest groups are a great example of how this networking shares industry and RTO expertise nationally and have helped us in every State.

As a member representative of ERTOA I have the opportunity to network with over 44 RTO managers across Australia involved in enterprises from very diverse industries. My enterprise has used this network for RTO questions and also learning and development practice issues. The information has allowed us to influence practice in our organisation by sighting evidence of other companies solutions to similar situations. When issues of government policy or regulation have caused issue I have the ability to raise this with the Association and other members to look towards opportunities to influence changes.
Chris Butler, Business Quality and RTO Manager
Learning and Development, Qantas College
As members of ERTOA we have always been supported and given guidance for legislative changes. Particularly resources that were developed and provided by ERTOA were instrumental in helping us through a re-registration audit under AQTF2007 without any corrective actions. Interactions with other ERTOA members often provide opportunities to further develop our knowledge and skills in the RTO/VET world.
Paula Dexter, RTO Manager
Westpac Banking Corporation
ERTOA membership has been valuable to us as a company in that discussions with other Enterprise RTO’s around the implementation of AQTF2007 enabled us to clarify our thinking and modify our systems and processes so that we sailed through a re-registration audit not long after AQTF2007 came into force. Also the willingness of members to share information is most invaluable.

Wesfarmers General Insurance Limited
ERTOA membership has enabled our VET practitioners to meet with VET practitioners in other enterprises, in both the public and private sectors. Participation in ERTOA events has been a very successful development strategy used by many of our practitioners. As a result of this, our practitioners now have built networks and in the sharing of information between enterprises we have found that while the industries in the enterprises may be very different, the issues which arise in the enterprises are very common.
